Holy Assumption Church in Kenai has been blessed to exhibit items from the church and surrounding area in celebration of the 125th anniversary of the temple building. The Kenai Visitor and Cultural Center is hosting the exhibit until November 6. An opening reception was held on Friday September 4. Members of the parish and local residents attended the catered event and some went home with prizes!
Included in the exhibit are hand-embroidered vestments (nineteenth century), the large Gospel book and its carrying case, along with wedding crowns Igumen Nicholai (the first priest in Kenai) traveled to villages with in the mid to late 19th century.
